Korina Sanchez : biography

05 October 1964 –

On 8 May 2009, Sanchez took an indefinite leave from her DZMM radio morning program and evening newscast Bandila, in preparation for her wedding to then Senator Mar Roxas and her involvement in her husband’s presidential bid for the May 2010 Philippine elections.[3][4] She maintained work on her magazine program Rated K which remained part of the network’s Sunday evening programming.

It was in 2009 that Sanchez was ranked No. 1 in the Social Weather Station (SWS) Survey as Most Trusted Television Personality Nationwide.

In October 2010 Sanchez was invited to resume primetime news casting by Regina Reyes, then incoming Senior Vice President for the station’s News and Current Affairs Division replacing Maria Ressa (Ressa was head of the Division for six years). By this time Charo Santos-Concio had been promoted to replace Alejandro as company President by its Chairman and CEO Gabby Lopez.

On November 8, 2010 Sanchez, together with former Vice President Noli de Castro and former congressman Ted Failon were relaunched in the new version of the station’s primetime newscast, TV Patrol, now currently airing daily at 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm Mondays to Fridays.

On January 2012, Sanchez also returned to AM talk radio. ‘Rated Korina,’ a news magazine talk show anchored solo by Sanchez, and now airs daily Mondays thru Fridays at 10am to 11 am over radio DZMM. She occasionally does an television interview show, Up Close and Personal, for ANC (the ABS-CBN News Channel). She has so far done special episodes of this show — on the resurgence of Aung San SuuKyi in Myanmar, an interview with American celebrity financial adviser SuzeOrman and one with Senator Miriam Santiago.
