Stevie J : biography

Stevie J (born November 2, 1971 Steven Jordan) is an American musician, singer, record producer and songwriter, born in Buffalo, New York. Stevie J was the leader of the Bad Boy Entertainment Hitmen roster of in-house producers and writers during the 90s. He worked often with the label’s owner Sean "Puffy" Combs, producing on massive Bad Boy albums and catalog, such as the debut of R&B quartet 112, Stevie produced their lead single "Only You" featuring Notorious B.I.G., and he also produced 80% of 112’s debut album. Stevie J produced songs like "Mo Money Mo Problems", Nasty Boy", "Notorious Thugs" featuring Bone Thugs, "Another", "You’re Nobody", and "Last Day" just to name a few of Biggie’s classics. He also produced the hugely successful tribute single by Puff Daddy – "I’ll Be Missing You". Stevie went on to win a Grammy Award for the production on the Puff Daddy & The Family album. Outside of his association with Bad Boy, he has also produced for artists including Mariah Carey, with whom he was nominated for a Grammy Award for the contribution on her album Butterfly (1997). From the album, he produced songs like "Honey" (the album’s lead single), "Breakdown" (featuring Bone Thugs-n-Harmony), "Babydoll", and for Carey’s #1’s (1998) "I Still Believe" and "Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You’re Going To)". He also worked with Beyoncé Knowles on her song "Summertime", Jay-Z on songs like "Ride or Die" and "Lucky Me", Lil Wayne, Deborah Cox, Tamia, Tevin Campbell, and co-writing Eve’s "Blow Ya Mind".

He was involved in a high-profile relationship with Eve in the late 90s and early 2000s. A few years later, a sex tape was released exposing both in an intimate act. More recently, Stevie J has been linked to NBA basketball wife Tammie Grant, the two were in a serious relationship for two years. After the break up, they remained friends until recently, it is reported the two have reconciled. Stevie and Tammie are partners in the their record label the SJ Music Group. Stevie was engaged to Alexandria Martin. Whoopi Goldberg‘s daughter in 2007. He married his Vh1 costar Joseline Hernandez in a lavish ceremony in Puerto Rico June 2013.

In 2012, Stevie J was a primary castmember of the VH1 Reality TV Series, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, which featured him involved in a love/work triangle between his then girlfriend, Mimi Faust, and Puerto Rican rapper/singer Joseline Hernandez. The show also starred singers K. Michelle and Karlie Redd, rapper Lil Scrappy along with his girlfriend, Erica Dixon, mother Momma Dee, producer/publisher Benzino, and rapper/singer Rasheeda.

Career

Stevie J is a producer and manager. Stevie currently stars in Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta with wife Joseline Hernandez-Jordan, and ex- girlfriend and baby momma Mimi Faust. Stevie has managed big names such as Biggie Smalls and Mariah Carey.
