Katarzyna Branicka : biography

10 December 1825 – 20 September 1907

Countess Katarzyna Branicka (1825–1907) was a Polish noblewoman of the Korczak coat of arms, and art collector. Through her father she was rumoured to be a great-grandchild of Catherine the Great.

Korczak Coat of Arms The portrait of her to the right was done by German painter Franz Winterhalter in 1854. A Chopin Waltz in A-flat major is dedicated to her. It is the final waltz by Chopin that was published in his lifetime.

She married Count Adam Józef Potocki on 26 October 1847 in Dresden.
