Ergilio Hato : biography

12 April 1926 – 18 December 2003

Ergilio Pedro Hato (1926–2003), also known as ‘Pantera Negra’ (black panther), was a legendary goalkeeper from Curaçao and the Caribbean football in the former Netherlands Antilles. Although he was well known in the Caribbean and beyond, he refused to become a professional football player. The Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao was named after him.
