Dharshini David : biography


Dharshini David is an English economist and broadcaster. After working at HSBC, and the BBC she became a business correspondent and presenter for Sky News in 2009.

Broadcasting career

David joined the BBC in 2000 as an economics and business reporter. BBC News, 4 July 2001 She worked on national BB1 bulletins, BBC News 24, and on its international counterpart BBC World. She also presented for the BBC's current affairs series Panorama, BBC One news and BBC Radio. She was appointed the BBC's New York Business Presenter in July 2006 BBC News, 20 September 2007 and presented World Business Report from New York. and covered the emergence of the credit crunch from Wall Street.

David joined Tesco in 2008 as their Head of Broadcast, guardian.co.uk, 29 February 2008 and spoke to media outlets on Tesco's business affairs. BBC News, 10 November 2008 The Observer, 29 June 2008

In September 2009, she joined Sky News as a business and economics correspondent. She currently presents business news bulletins & programmes for Sky, including the flagship business programme "Jeff Randall Live".
