Cameron Ciraldo : biography

Cameron Ciraldo (born 30 October 1984 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian rugby league football player for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League competition. He previously played for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and more recently the Newcastle Knights. His position of choice is in the second row but he can also play lock.

He is one of the tallest players in the NRL at 194 cm.

Cameron was a finalist in the Sexiest Man in League contest for 2006, where he was placed third with 12.5% of the vote.

On 23 March 2009 when he was playing for the Newcastle Knights against the Cronulla Sharks, Ciraldo suffered an injury identified as a severe dislocation of the right ankle. He was escorted from the field with his ankle rotated at approximately 90-100 degrees. It is unsure to the seriousness of the incident.

He is also of Italian descent and is eligible to represent the Italy national rugby league team.

He was named in the Italian squad for the European Cup In 2011 he was announced as a member of the Italian side that will compete in the 2013 World Cup qualifying., 6 April 2011

In August 2011, Ciraldo signed a 2-year deal with the Penrith Panthers.
