Ramesses II: the true pharaoh even after his death is a king…

During several millennia the mummy of Pharaoh Ramesses II lied in a tomb, rich and luxuriously furnished, with all the necessary royal regalia.

When archeologists discovered the tomb, the pharaoh’s mummy was put in the museum, where thousands of visitors every day took a look at the great ancient ruler of Egypt in admiration and awe.

In 1974 scientist (specialists on Egypt) without respect, without any excuses carried out experiments during which they came to the conclusion that the mummy’s condition was rapidly getting worse and worse. The mummy’s end drawing near, so soon that scientists prognosticated the mummy would stay in the museum not more than a month, and then, if nobody did anything about the matter, in a month there would be nothing to expose in the museum.

Only full examination in modern laboratories of France could change the situation for the better. The speed of dissolution of biologic material made it a hard task for unceremonious scientist. Their new task was to get all the necessary documents (which were needed for exporting “a cultural value” out of the country) ready in time.

The solution was finally found. A civil passport was made for this purpose – now a pharaoh Ramesses II had his own passport!

“Name – Ramesses. Profession: king. Special notes: ill.” – a passport with such amazing data together with the pharaoh’s sarcophagus was loaded on board of a plane and sent to France.

When the officials of France got to know that the king himself was going to visit them (not just some king but Ramesses!), they organized a meeting at the airport –and a truly official one, with all the honours, orchestra and escort.
